What do we mean by healthiest foods? On a broader note, we
can say that the food which induces all the necessary nutrients in the body and
has fewer calories are termed as healthy food. They make you healthy inside and
beautiful outside. For people who follow a healthy diet mostly includes fruits,
vegetables, and whole grains. Processed food or vegetables are not for them.
Some of the food items which are termed to be healthiest are as follows.
Spinach- This green leafy vegetable is very easily available
everywhere. It can be used fresh or canned. It can be used in salads,
dressings, vegetables or soups. It has vitamins, proteins, iron, and minerals.
It gives essential nutrients to the body and has fewer calories.
Black Beans- This vegetarian dish is rich in fiber and
protein. The best part of eating this is once you eat this you will not feel
hungry for long. It keeps you full. Also, the water obtained from boiling these
seeds is used in various soups and salad dressing.
Walnuts- Walnuts are basically a type of walnut tree nut
which comes into the category of dry fruits. They have a good amount of
antioxidants and a rich source of omega -3 fatty acids and protein. They are
good for the heart. The various combination of these nutrients makes it a
better snacking item than packaged snacks like chips and all.
Beets- Beet is a taproot vegetable rich in potassium,
magnesium, and Iron. People can eat it raw as salads, make vegetables and often
drink beetroot juice too. It is equally good in either of the forms.
Avocado- This one is the fruit of the Avocado tree. Its
nutritional value is very high and it has various type of vitamins and
minerals. It’s rich in potassium too. It is said that it has even more
potassium than bananas. People also drink avocado juice.
Dark Chocolate- It is the healthiest known chocolates
amongst all the known chocolates. It is made from seeds of the cocoa tree. It
has fibers, antioxidants, and minerals. It also acts as a good mood booster and
decreases the risk of heart disease.
Raspberries- These are Vitamin C rich fruits which helps in
fighting against cancer and various heart diseases. It also works as an age
stimulant. They also increase metabolism and help to burn fat faster. They can
be used in various desserts and can be eaten raw also.
Garlic- Garlic comes under onion family. It is used in
cooking also and medicinal purposes also. Garlic is very nutritious and
healthy. It has magnesium in abundance along with other nutrients. It reduces
blood pressure and helps in fighting the common cold.
Lemon- Lemons are known to be rich in Vitamin C. It is used
to keep the body hydrated, helps in digestion and helps in burning fat. It is
used for cosmetic purposes too. Drinking a glass of lemon water every day is
considered healthy.
